The Farmland Museum and Denny Abbey Profile
Open from April to October, the Museum collects, displays and preserves social history artefacts and agricultural machinery related to the history of rural Cambridgeshire.
Displays include basketmaking, blacksmith, wheelwright and dairy, a complete 1940s Farmworkers cottage, a Village Shop and a reconstruction of a fen dwellers hut.
The 12th century Abbey was lived in by Benedictine Monks, Knights Templar and finally by Poor Clare Nuns, before becoming a farmhouse in the 16th century. This fascinating history is reflected in the complex architecture, and new displays inside bring the Abbey to life.
