BVLS is a small, UK-based charity which raises funds to support vocational training and income generating opportunities for leprosy-affected people and their families in the self-established community of Bethany Leprosy Colony, in Andhra Pradesh, South India. We also support emergency medical care and a school meals programme for children growing up the village, and consider any other requests for funding that will increase the chances of long term sustainability for the community. Our members -- who pay a minimum subscription of £12 per year -- receive regular newsletters and an invitation to our Annual General Meeting. Most of our funds are generated by donations and small-scale fundraising events.
