Kathy Evans Afghan Education Trust Profile

The Trust was set up on the death of a former journalist - Kathy Evans - who had worked both for the Guardian and the BBC and spent many years as a correspondent from the region. Kathy left the proceeds from her estate for the poorest people in Afghanistan, to give them an education so that they can get work and support themselves. The Trust is carrying out Kathy's wishes.

Kathy herself worked towards one of the main projects of the Trust which is to provide jewellery design courses at both Higher Education Level and at the crafts skills level. The Higher Education course is to be based at Kabul University.
