Many of the people we assist have no previous experience of sailing, some have never been on the water before. It is a sport that you can try at any age and with virtually any disability - RYA Sailability already helps make these dreams a reality for 15,000 disabled people.
We rely on help, support and funding mostly from the boating community. Our expertise can advice on accessability issues for clubs, training on the needs of people with disabilities, guidance and funds for special equipment, hoist and boats.
There are more then 200 clubs around the country already catering for different disabilities, where hundreds of volunteers help make it all possible with their time and support.
RYA Sailability will assist with advice on where to sail, suitable boats and clothing and who to contact for help.
