A UK charity registered with the UK Charity Commission (No. 1101654) in Jan 2004.
Funds raised are remitted to Zambia are used to improve school facilities and sponsor special projects which will help provide a consistent learning/teaching environment for its pupils and staff.
Support is also provided to help the local community provide essential school materials to disadvantaged children whose immidiate families are unable to support them as a result of disease such as malaria, TB or AIDS.
The UK Fund aims to provide bursaries for qualifying individual pupils to attend vocational training in sustainable farming techniques in either their home communities or elsewhere in Zambia.
A Trustee of the MEF is based in Lusaka, the capital, and helps co-ordinate the needs and requirements with the local school, and its PTA, with the UK based charity.
The UK Based charity does not retain salaried staff, and depends entirely on voluntary support for administration and fund raising activities.
