International China Concern Profile

International China Concern was set up in 1993, after Director David Gotts visited a Chinese orphanage.

The charity now provides full-time care, therapy and education to 155 children in Hunan Province, China, all of whom have some form of disability. In addition, ICC provides training to orphanage workers from all over China.

Since the charity was first set up we have operated a child sponsorship programme. For more information visit our website.

There are voluntary opportunities for those wishing to work in a Chinese orphanage from as little as two weeks long, and up to five years. Longer term volunteers should have a background in nursing, therapy, medicine or special education.

A number of short term volunteer teams are organised each year to provide people with an opportunity to experience our work first hand. These teams are open to anyone. Under 18s should be accompanied by an adult.

International China Concern is a Christian charity, fully funded by voluntary donations. There are offices in the UK, USA, Canada, Australia, Netherlands and Hong Kong.
