Our work covers 3 main project areas which are Advice, Community Development and Advocacy:
• We provide a Welfare Rights drop-in advice service 3 mornings a week, with an additional home visits service for elderly Somali’s. We also work with refugee groups who are providing bi-lingual advice to their communities, supporting them to develop their service and implement quality systems.
• We provide one-to-one organisational development sessions for refugee community organisations. This involves helping new arrivals to set up self-help groups, access funding, meeting space and training.
• We support the Refugee & Migrants network, as a forum for refugees to have a voice and influence local policy affecting their communities. Our most recent work involved producing and launching the Refugee Charter for Manchester.
