Carlsson Family Foundation Profile

Roger E. Carlsson is the founder and Chairman of the FCT Group of Companies, an international trading and investment group. He has been a member of most major derivatives exchanges. He is currently a Direcotr of Euronext.liffe and a member of the London Business School's Regional Advisory Board.

In 1998, Mr. Carlsson established the Carlsson Family Foundation to manage his charitable contributions and to provide a research vehicle for other donors wishing to make informed charitable decisions. His vision for the Foundation was to research established charities applying business criteria to judge their contribution to the community, successful attainment of charitable purposes and appropriate allocation of funds. The Foundation covers all operating, research and overhead costs.

The Foundation requires assurances from the charities in receipt of its funds that all donations are used for the projects specified and not for administrative purposes. Of all the monies raised, 100% goes directly to charitable projects supporting the needs of children worldwide.

The Carlsson Family Foundation supports the activities of other charities that conform to its mandate and reflect the interests outlined in the Foundation's Mission Statement. Projects supported focus on health and educational support for the most disadvantaged and vulnerable children. The emphasis is on supporting projects that operate a self-help policy and that are, in the long term, self sustaining. It is a policy of the Foundation that all funds donated are spent entirely on project costs and not on administration.

The Foundation sponsors charities nationally and internationally and also has an interest in promoting policy initiatives that work towards the eradication of poverty.

Goals:

- To assist children in poverty with special reference to those in one parent families.

- To promote child and family welfare, including physical, emotional and mental well-being.

- To foster the intellectual and personal development of children.

- To promote and encourage a strong sense of responsibility with an emphasis on co-operation and self-help among families.

- To relate in creative and innovative ways with other charities and social agencies in the wider field of child poverty.

- To raise consciousness by building educational and communication networks within financial, political and culteral spheres.
