The Foundation aims to produce long-term benefits that have the potential to improve the health of individuals. Every year the Fooundation donates at least £1.5 million to medical research grants for projects in five specific areas and awards for excellence in completed clinical projects.
The reseach areas covered are:surgery; epidemiology and preventive health;communication and health inforemation for medical professionals and patients;health at work and mental health in older people.
