Fly-boats were horse drawn and the express craft of the inland waterways. Running non stop, day and night, they delivered important and perishable goods around the clock throughout the waterways network. We have just completed the full restoration of the only remaining fly-boat 'Saturn' at a cost of £84,000. She will now travel the waterways of the North West, horse drawn when possible, demonstrating an important part of our industrial heritage - a floating mobile museum. Establishing education links with schools will form an important part of our work. 'Saturn' celebrates its centenary in 2006.
