The Global Fund for Children UK Trust (“The UK Trust”) is guided by the principle that to thrive in childhood and develop into contributing adults in our global society, children need –
to learn
to be productive
to be safe
to be healthy
We believe that supporting and strengthening grass root organisations is the best way to make a lasting impact on the lives of children, their families and their communities as a whole.
We work only with nascent and emerging community based organisations to provide small grants of around £2 - 3k. Our social investment model provides investment in partners at a crucial stage of their development to help strengthen their capacity, deepen the impact of their programmes and increase the number of children they serve.
Ensuring children learn is our first aim but we also stress the importance of asking what can be done to alleviate poverty, hunger and the poor health some children experience throughout their childhood.
The UK Trust believes in a holistic and integrated approach to education. By attacking their most immediate health problems we believe that many vulnerable children will be better able to learn and secure a brighter future.
To support this approach The UK Trust has
four grant making portfolios –

Our grants are augmented by an array of value-added services, including intensive organisational development assistance, supplemental grants to support monitoring and evaluation, pro bono legal referrals, and help with leveraging additional funding, visibility, and capacity.
For outstanding grantee partners ready to graduate from The UK Trust funding, we also offer a one off £12 000 sustainability award as well as a £500 tracking grant, which allow us to follow an organisation’s long-term trajectory and experience.
The UK Trust provides an important bridge between community-based organisations and the larger philanthropic and international development communities, by scouting out emerging leaders and innovative service models and nurturing them over time so they become stronger and more sustainable.
