Skill is UK-wide charity that for 30 years has been helping young people and adults with any kind of disability to overcome physical, financial and attitudinal barriers to education and employment.

Skill is a membership organisation incorporating individual disabled and professional people, further and higher education institutions, educational, student, employer, disability and public organisations,. Skill has offices in London, Edinburgh, Glamorgan and Belfast.

What Skill offers:

* an information and advice service free to disabled people, their families and key advisers, through a helpline, by email and letter, and a popular website www.skill.org.uk incorporating advice on many frequently asked questions and exceeding one thousand 18 to 20-minute visits daily

* promotes good practice in post-16 provision through publications and events to which disabled people contribute their stories

* promotes policy change and influences government, based on user experience and member advice

* undertakes action research projects

* offers consultancy and training services.
