The Beneficial Foundation is a local charity, established in 1979 and provides for the education, training and rehabilitation of people of all ages who are in need with us currently seeking to assist the disadvantaged particularly those with learning difficulties and other disabilities.
The Foundation encourages the personal development of the learners with them being given every opportunity to gain nationally recognised qualifications through the Open College Network with courses available at both our Training Centre in Portsmouth and Horticultural Centre in Bishops Waltham.
Our aim for the future is to, through person centred plans, equip our Learners with the skills and confidence that they require to progress into meaningful activity, part or full time paid employment, self employment or, with others to develop Social Firms.
Our hope is that, from this, they will see an improvement in their quality of life and the positive contribution that they are able to make to the community.
In addition to our main objectives the Foundation is able to assist other local community and voluntary groups with similar objectives through the provision of administrative and financial services.
Finally, through our Materials Bank and Craft Centre we support some 1,450+ local community, statutory and voluntary groups by the provision of a wide range of materials such as paper, card, fabric and plastics donated to us by local commerce and industry.
